Hilary Jacobson was born in Los Angeles in 1956 and moved to Switzerland when she was 19 years old to study music. After experiencing health and breastfeeding problems, she began an intense, independent study of foods and herbs for milk supply and a mother’s health. In 1999, Hilary co-founded the first online group for mothers with complex breastfeeding problems, MOBI Motherhood Intl. She is a Swiss-certified Holistic Lactation Consultant and a mindfulness-based Hypnotherapist, and the author of three books for breastfeeding mothers:
- Mother Food: A Breastfeeding Diet Guide with Lactogenic Food and Herbs
- Healing Breastfeeding Grief: How mothers feel and heal when breastfeeding does not go as hoped
- A Mother’s Garden of Galactagogues: Growing and using milk-boosting herbs and foods from around the world.
As a hypnotherapist, Hilary helps mothers in the postpartum heal from birth trauma and breastfeeding grief. She works with healthcare professionals suffering from burnout, stress and trauma.
Ms. Jacobson is a guest speaker and teacher. She offers free classes in mindfulness to mothers and healthcare professionals. She teaches healthcare professionals the mindful presence and communication skills to mitigate trauma in mothers.
